The Drahbal is a concept of my own creation. It has evolved a lot with 3D. It’s a dragon that can be found in deep-sea areas, oceans, and seas. It lives on small lost islands and hunts in the depths.
The sculpt I’m presenting shows a teenage version of the beast; it has not yet reached its age and adult size.
They have an inverted jaw that allows it to move underwater with its mouth open, using great force to hunt schools of fish or large fish by smashing them against all the teeth (or horns) present on its jaw. It has salt pouches scattered across its body so it can manage its buoyancy underwater and get less tired. The babies even have some on their wings to avoid drowning.
All the striations on its wings are air passages. If the air comes from above, the passages open to let the air flow through easily. If the air comes from below (during a wingbeat), the striations close and exert strong force on the air or water, allowing the Drahbal to launch itself into the air or out of the water very easily, despite its heavy weight due to its bone density.
